Regular readers might know my personal adventure machine is a BMW R1250GS Rallye. It's a great ride and, largely, does the things I want it to do very well.

A chance encounter with the Ariel Owners' Rally co-organiser Shorty Cole, saw me invited along to do a few pics and a story for Kiwi Rider, an opportunity I was not going to turn down.
